Young voices building connection through music and dialogue.
Jerusalem Youth Chorus is a choral and dialogue program for Palestinian and Israeli youth in Jerusalem.
In a city shaped by separation, inequality, fear, and competing narratives, JYC creates a space where young people from East and West Jerusalem can sing together, share stories, and learn to listen across divides. Through music and facilitated dialogue, the chorus helps youth speak their truths, encounter one another’s humanity, and grow as leaders in their communities.
Their Role in Civil Society
Jerusalem Youth Chorus plays a unique role in the Palestinian and Israeli civil society ecosystem by using the arts as a bridge for humanization, dialogue, and youth leadership.
Their work shows how co-creation can open spaces that politics often closes. Music becomes more than performance: it becomes a shared language through which young people can build trust, express identity, practice listening, and carry a message of peace, justice, inclusion, and equality to audiences in Jerusalem and around the world.
